What is PeeFinder?
How it all started
The idea came on a road trip through Tuscany, in summer. Two hours past Florence, stuck in traffic on the Autostrada, our daughter called from the back seat: “Dad, I need to go.” What followed was a small odyssey — three exits, one closed café, a petrol station with no toilet and, eventually, a bus shelter where we had to improvise.
Back at the hotel that evening, I thought: surely in 2025 you shouldn't be able to find a charging point for your car faster than a toilet for yourself. I opened my laptop, found thousands of toilets mapped in OpenStreetMap — just not in any app that could help me quickly and without ads on the road. That was the moment PeeFinder was born.
What started as a weekend project became a map for all of Europe. Today PeeFinder helps families, travellers, people with IBS or a weak bladder, and anyone who simply needs to go — quickly, for free, and accessible to all.
